When you relax.

When you relax properly - you reset the nervous system - you reset the nervous system's default setting.

If you have never been relaxed, it will take some time to reset the settings.

It's an oxymoron of sorts, but sometimes you have to work hard to relax.

Relaxing is not easy to do. For example if your sympathetic nervous system is set to 'full on' you will find it extremely difficult to think your way into relaxation.

Do some Asana.
Then do some pranayama.
Then do some more Asana.
More pranayama.
Relax.
Breathe.
Stretch.
Think.
Don't think.
Do some more Asana.
More pranayama.
And.
Suddenly.
You may find.
You
Are
Relaxed.

Not a miracle - more and act of conscious effort, and intelligence combined.
