We have a part of us, which I call the conditioned self, that is like a ghost - it keeps haunting us.
We do a lot of good work, we try to be more peaceful, more balanced. We try to overcome our destructive habits, and self centred behaviours. Then, out of nowhere, there is an explosion, or in this case and implosion. A trigger of some kind occurs, a catalyst of some kind causes our ghost to come and haunt us.
And in this moment, or the moment just after the explosion, we feel very bad.
In this time of regret and remorse it feels as if we had never done anything worthwhile, as if the pain and tension of our whole life is flushed up and displayed for all the world to see.
This thing is called many things, the ego, the mind, the conditioned mind, the pain body.
Until we acknowledge this thing it will keep haunting us........
