mind - body - breath

You've got it and you always had it, but it was only as you started getting into a more regular practise that you learned how to use it!

Didn't you?

Mind - Body - Breath

Thinking - Feeling - Energy.

You use it or it uses you!

SNOWDONIA NORTH WALES

WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO?

HA!

WHEN YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR YOU ARE LOOKING INTO THE EYES OF THE ONE PERSON THAT CAN SOLVE ALL OF YOU PROBLEMS - ASSUMING YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AND YOU ARE LOOKING INTO YOUR OWN EYES - OF COURSE, OF COURSE.

SHIVA!

The 'high' you feel after doing a strenuous P.E class is caused by the relies of certain endorphins - this the the 'feeling better for a little while' until the 'real world' comes back to get you kind of practise - leading you to go back for more - in other words addiction.

I prefer the 'getter better' practise. I go in and I come out feeling more alive - more connected.

Feeling ecstatic bliss as you touch the centre of everything is more like it - How do you do that?

Not by wasting energy in a P.E class!

How about learning to contain and channel energy into the nadi's via pranayama/meditation - leading to an opening of the inner levels - the 'so-called' subjective realm?

But then again how long can an thing be called subjective if it is experienced by many?

Ground control.

With an ongoing practise things start to come loose. We continue to shake ourselves awake. As we continue to wake up (remove the veil of ignorance) we are confronted and confounded by our inner workings. It sometimes feels like we are literally going mad!

In this case we are being restored to sanity. If you want a steady and safe life - take tranquilisers!

If you want to go beyond the 'idea' of who or what you think you are then Yoga Asana/Pranayam and meditation is one way.

It is this very reason that it has been recommended that you 'do not' attempt any of the so-called advanced yoga practises without the guidance of a good teacher - Where you gonna find one of those? :))

look within

Stop wasting your time - sit still and look within.

Holding down a job - running a family - being unemployed - living on an inheritance - dropping out of society - living in town - living in the country - living on benefit.

Wherever or whatever you are, you still and will always have the 'gift of time'.
Becoming profoundly aware of this 'gift of time' makes life more interesting.
Becoming aware of what you 'think' within this time becomes fascinating.

Why do you do what you do? How did you become the person you are?

Maybe it's better not to think. If you don't think you won't have to feel responsible for the choices you make. You can 'go with the flow' -whateverthatis!

Don't be afraid to look at yourself - the deeper you go - the higher you fly!

WHat WHy WHo ?

Yoga - as far as I am aware was never about becoming peaceful. It may lead you to peace, but it is not about peace. Yoga is about conflict. It is a about the conflict between you and who you think you are. It is about finding out more about yourself.

It is not about trying to do anything. If you 'do it' that is enough.

There are a million voices telling you this, that and the other.

Who are you?
What are you doing?

The serious practice of yoga will show you.
You may feel deeply unhappy - you may feel very angry - you may feel desolate. And?
These feelings are 'not' reality.
You may think you are great - you may think you are stupid - you may vacillate between the two.
Your thoughts are not reality.

What is reality - well that is the next obvious question isn't it?

It seems all the original teachings are being plundered for fame and profit.

The old guru's were not confounded with political correctness, right or wrong, they were living in the truth! How can we compare some of the tepid yoga that is being pedaled today as anything other than a mere shadow of it's former glory.

If you want to learn yoga keep away from yoga centers!

As far as I can tell all centers and teachers have their own agenda. And it is nothing to do with you finding out the truth. They want you to keep coming back, they want to tell you nice things to keep you coming back.

The truth is not concerned with your comfort, or if you are feeling OK.

It wants you to burn your karma and really live!

It's not easy - is it?

If you really want to know read some of the old books - what were these people (teachers) really like?

And remember to laugh sometimes.

look within

Stop blaming others for your problems and start looking in the mirror. There you will see the cause of, and the solution to, all of yours and the worlds problems.

What are you going to do about it?

Siva!

Intense

I have always felt, and expressed, that it seems to me that people say they want to do yoga, but if questioned deeper they may find that they would prefer to be given valium. The 'valiumisation' of people, or the dumbing down of people into 'shanti bunnies' through the so called practise of yoga is for me a sad demise of the 'real' possibilities of yoga per se.

In my opinion and experience Yoga is radical and sometimes dramatic. The energy potentials in the human being are large enough to invent computers and dangerous enough to create havoc. For me yoga is about exploring these energies, being willing to go deeper into the darker recesses of ourselves to find out who we really are.

The smugness of the newly evolved yogi is very funny. After three or four years of 'doing' yoga the smug yogi has arrived and knows it all. Indeed, finding a niche and opening yet another yoga center or running workshops or retreats! Passing on another diluted version of what they think is yoga.

There are no medals in yoga - ask a so-called ordinary person how they are managing to raise a family in this current climate, or how a young person feels about their future, before you start throwing platitudes around.

In my experience life is tough and so is yoga. If you want to drop out and live in an ashram or chant morning noon and night and tell yourself you are becoming enlightened that is your prerogative but please don't tell me you are a yogi.

As to whether I think I'm a yogi - at this point I don't know, and really, more importantly, I don't care.

All time low.

I have never found it easy to surrender. I have had a difficult time finding the 'bliss absolute' the Yogis talk of. I look around me and see a great deal of bullshit talked about yoga, about what it is and what it isn't. And at times like this (because there will always be times like this) I wonder if yoga for me is really working, is it really doing what it says it 'can' do or am I fooling myself?

I have taught many people of all ages and experiences and I have seen some of them transform themselves and their lives. When I see this I 'know' that yoga works.

I see the 'fat' Bhaktis chanting and being joyful, but I think this is false.
I see the thin 'Hatha yogi's twisting and turning themselves inside out and I think that this too, is false. I say this because the 'joy' is conditional on the ongoing practise and is therefore dependent upon certain things that are not inherent.

Well these are my 'judgemental thoughts' admittedly but they are mine and it is only me that can sort through it/them.

And within all this.
I know.
This is my life.
And.
I am me.

Pleasure.

It is very healthy and natural to seek pleasure and avoid discomfort.

When we look in the mirror we see the cause of and the answer to our problems.

Compulsive thinking (neurotic thinking) is the best way to disconnect from your body and feel miserable.

So - do we have any choice in how we think or what we think about?

YES - NO?

Ask yourself - be honest!

Are you avoiding who you are by keeping yourself too busy?

When you do Asana, are you doing it mindfully, or robotically.

"Feeling better is not getting better." Quote.

Are you feeling better or getting better.

Getting better, it seems to me, requires some hard work.

You are not your mind - how your mind operates is up to you - who are you?

Confused?

Good!

Feeling calm and peaceful is great - but are you metaphorically taking tranquillisers?

'Contentment is drawn from a feeling of achieving some thing - it is not a God given right!' Quote.

Am I talking rubbish?

Think about it!
